Mickey and Violle won the German Design Award 2018
Another international recognition of the high quality of Profim products
We are pleased to announce that the two latest collections designed for Profim by ITO Design have been honoured with the German Design Award 2018. The main prize was awarded to the Mickey adjustable stool. The Mickey is highly ergonomic and can be used for active desk work, both seated and standing. It also follows the position flawlessly with a built-in 10 degree tilt to either side. These changes of position during work provide active support for the spine.
The distinction was awarded to the Violle’s latest collection of premium swivel chairs. Its high-quality aluminium back frame creates a harmonious line that flows seamlessly into the armrests, which gives Violle that special look and feel. Violle also represents high-end ergonomics. It comes with an innovative synchro mechanism and easily accessible controls that have been fully integrated with the seat to create a smooth, aesthetically pleasing form.
The German Design Award is one of the most wellrespected design competitions in the world and is held in high regard well beyond professional circles. Its goal: to discover, present and honour unique design trends. The prizes are conferred by the German Design Council, established in 1953 as a foundation on the initiative of the German Bundestag, it supports brand value through design. The competition sets the highest standards when it comes to selecting the prize-winners: thanks to the unique nomination process, products and communication design services are only invited to participate if they stand out demonstrably thanks to their design quality. This year there were more than 5,000 entries. The award ceremony of the German Design Award 2018 took place at 9 February 2018 at the international consumer fair Ambiente in Frankfurt am Main.
